Love People Not Pixels

Love People Not Pixels (LPNP) is based in Houston, TX and was founded in 2016.  LPNP exists to inspire a culture shift where individuals, families and communities are making informed choices to reject pornography and to defend each other from sexual exploitation.   We want to see people thriving in relationships, living free from sexual compulsions / addictions.  We will accomplish this through three program areas:

  1. Be Informed – any activities that educate people on the harms of viewing pornography and the connection that pornography has to human trafficking.
  2. Get Engaged – Trainings designed to equip people to get involved with LPNP programs.
  3. Defend Love – Action steps that people take to promote the rejection of pornography and sexual exploitation.

Bio

Love People Not Pixels (LPNP) was founded in 2016 by Beau Abdulla.  The organization is based just outside Houston TX, in Fort Bend County.  LPNP is an official non-profit operating under Artists in Christian Testimony (501c3 - EIN 95-3660821).   The organization originally launched under the name Voice for Choice (V4C).  In Jan 2018, V4C rebranded to LPNP.

Text Box: Our logo is called "Victory." It represents people of all ages, sexes, nationalities and races experiencing vibrant and healthy relationships. The line through the XXX represents people making a deliberate and intentional choice to reject pornography.

We live in a PORNIFIED culture.Pornography is negatively shaping the sexual arousal templates of literally tens of millions of people. There are over 30 negative physical, psychological, social and spiritual consequences that can result from habitually and compulsively viewing pornography. However, few people are equipped to deal with this issue and the real-life impact this is having on people’s sexuality, the connection this has to the increased demand for commercial sex services and their inability to develop thriving intimate relationships.Children are being poisoned, adults are becoming addicted and families are being destroyed.

There is no longer any doubt that viewing pornography has a negative impact on individuals, relationships and society. While we know that not everyone who views porn will end up purchasing another human being for sex, the vast PORNIFICATION of our society and culture has resulted in the highest demand for sex services in history. The majority (95%+) of men LPNP has connected with who are purchasing commercial sex view pornography.Often they are blind and ignorant to the impact that pornography has had on them.As LPNP Defenders walk with these men, they come to realize just how much pornography (along with other factors) has influenced their sexuality and that is it indeed connected to the services they are seeking.

Reach men’s heartsà Reduce demand for commercial sex services

It’s a classic case of supply and demand, and demand is at an all-time high.LPNP recognizes that the majority of anti-sex-trafficking organizations are focusing on the supply side. This is wonderful work. However, if we don’t reduce demand, the trafficked humans that get move rom being “victims” to “survivors” will simply be replaced by another vulnerable individual. LPNP is currently the only organization in the greater Houston area that has a program providing outreach directly to sex-buyers.

Calling all Defenders!  LPNP is taking a deliberate (and unique) approach to this issue. While there is a great need to raise awareness and educate people on the harms of viewing pornography, LPNP doesn’t stop there. LPNP believes that we will only see radical attitude and behavioral shifts (people choosing to reject pornography and not seeking commercial sex) through relational processes.  We must acknowledge the compulsions, addictions, shame and fear that often keeps these behaviors hidden.  LPNP addresses the need to provide safe and secure outlets for people dealing with these issues.

LPNP trains Defenders who offer this safe space.  They lead willing individuals on a journey that will help them find the resources they need to break free from sexual compulsions / addictions in a loving, empathic and caring way.

LPNP HAS A GOAL TO TRAIN 1000 DEFENDERS IN THE HOUSTON AREA BY THE END OF 2019.
